Hey there,
My name is Tatum Lynch! (she/her)
I'm so excited for the opportunity to bring my passions of Wellness Coaching and Personal Training together in a space that helps others enjoy the mental and physical health benefits of being active - and hopefully including you! More than anything, I want to help people find joy and health in the movement of their bodies - be it as a casual exerciser, professional athlete, or someone completely new to physical activity.
Backyard games, competitive athletics, even just dancing around to the music in my head: I've always loved being outside and active in any way I can. It has always been my way to release energy and relieve mental stress. However, in high school, I was diagnosed with two eating disorders that turned the joy of movement into self-doubt and punishment. No workout was complete until I was dripping sweat and out of breath. On the other hand, it was also my biggest motivator in healing my relationship with my body and food. Deep down, I knew sports would be taken away from me if I did not prioritize my recovery. I understood how exercise both hindered and benefited my mental health. I could also see I was not the only one struggling to find answers and support.
HEKA was born out of my love of being active, my personal experiences, and recognizing other people who faced similar difficulties with the hyper-critical, performance-driven mindsets that exercise programs are often associated with. Even activities geared towards self-care can end up increasing pressure on us in such environments. Through the HEKA platform, I want to help others find balance in their lives, mentally and physically - in an atmosphere that never forgets that movement is just another form of expression! For me, being a Wellness Coach doesn't mean caring for your physical health alone. It means caring for your mental health too - or your total health. Whether you identify as an athlete or not, there is no one-size-fits-all solution. Through our time together, I will work with you to create a personalized plan that yields mental and physical freedom.
When I'm not engaged in HEKA activities, you can find me taking deep dives into music, traveling the country in "Pasie" (my van-home on wheels), or honoring my own physical training and mental health. Currently, I follow a "hybrid athlete" style, pursuing my interests in ultra-running, cross-fit, traditional weight-lifting, and yoga. However, I will never turn down an opportunity to seek a new adventure or learn a new sport! I cannot wait to learn and grow alongside you all. If HEKA is anything, I hope it becomes a place where you feel a hug, find a friend, and amplify the best versions of yourself!
